Team SAFE-T News Bureau Team SAFE-T (School and Family Emergency Training): A California Partnership for Safety and Preparedness is an alliance of public and private partnerships, dedicated to integrating safety and preparedness in public schools throughout California. Team SAFE-T's annualized school-based educational materials will teach age-appropriate emergency information and preparedness skills for students in grades K-12. The program is the first all-hazards approach of its kind in America, and program resources are the first educational materials to be approved for use in California schools in more than a decade. In October 2005, Team SAFE-T will launch the first annual weeklong curriculum for California public school students, which will take place during School Safety Month. During the week students, administrators and faculty will be involved in safety and preparedness lessons that cover emergency situations and natural/man-made disasters. Parents will be invited to attend a family assembly where Emergency Responders will address families on how to create a family emergency plan and improve their preparedness skills. |
